Dr. Alexa Crete believes dentistry is the ultimate career because she can serve others while simultaneously exercising the artistic and scientific parts of her brain. She loves to be challenged, and dentistry presents daily opportunities for growth and lifelong learning. But mostly, she just feels happiest when she is connecting with other people helping them to reach their personal goals. Dr. Crete studied at The University of Arizona and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutritional Science & Dietetics, with minors in Spanish and Biochemistry. She then went on to study at The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, where she was the dental class president.
Dr. Crete is a member of the Mountain West Dental Forum which is associated with the Seattle Study Club. With them, she attends monthly courses which cover a variety of topics ranging from esthetics to treatment planning. Additionally, she is enrolled in a supplemental implant course with local periodontal specialists focused on implant retained denture restoration. She is also active in continuing education courses put on by her local Colorado Dental Association. Over the last year, she has completed additional courses in OSHA & Infection Control, biomimetic restorative dentistry, complex treatment planning, 3D CBCT imaging evaluation and diagnosis, routine and complex exodontia, as well as dental coding. She is constantly striving to improve her knowledge base for the sake of her patients.
She is a member of both the American Dental Association and the Colorado Dental Association. She has volunteered with the Colorado Mission of Mercy as a dentist in both Greely (2018) and Canon City (2021), which she found incredibly fulfilling. She also enjoys mentoring several local high school and college students. Dr. Crete has received numerous awards such as the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine Harry M. Paul Scholarship, the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine Hartman Memorial Scholarship, the University of Colorado Dental School Alumni Scholarship, the International College of Dentists USA Selection Humanitarian Award, and the Mountain West Dental Forum Dental Study Club 2021 Scholarship Recipient.
When Dr. Crete isn’t in the office, she loves horseback riding, family game nights, cooking, wine tasting, traveling with her husband, and girls’ trips with her best friends! She loves adventure but is a homebody at heart and enjoys spending her free time bundled in a blanket on her couch with her two dogs, Otis & Willow. Her favorite quote to live by is from Ephesians 3:20, “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.”
