Gwendolyn Calderon

Dr. Gwendolyn Calderon believes in providing dental care that meets the individual needs of each of her patients. She said, “I love what I do and the people I treat, and I am excited to add the Pat Booker team to my family!”

Dr. Calderon earned her Bachelor of Science in biology at Saint Mary’s University in 2013. She continued her education at University of Texas Health Science Center Houston School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2017. In her last two years of dental school, Dr. Calderon was the only female recognized as an honors oral surgery student.

As a fourth generation dentist, Dr. Calderon grew up around dentistry and always knew that was the career path she wanted to take. Her passion for her work is shown by the continuous education courses she participates in, including minimal sedation techniques, nitrous oxide administration, laser techniques, advanced surgical techniques and altering vertical dimension. She is a member of Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the San Antonio District Dental Society.

Dr. Calderon participated and helped organize mission trips to Jamaica, for two consecutive years, to provide free dental services for the underserved communities. She also participated in volunteer opportunities with Texas Mission of Mercy and Give Kids a Smile.

In her spare time, she enjoys taking her three dogs out on the town, reading and playing video games. She loves spending time with her three boys, ages 16, 13 and 11, who are her biggest motivation in life, and with her supportive husband of 17 years.
