Dr. Jenny Turek believes in providing dental care that meets the individual needs of each of her patients. She loves making people smile! Dr. Turek believes that a visit to the dentist should be a positive, stress-free experience. She treats all patients with respect, compassion, and patience. At the end of the day, Dr. Turek wants all of her patients to be pain-free and proud of their beautiful smile!
Dr. Turek was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, her family moved to the Bay Area of sunny California when she was very young. Her father was an engineer for IBM and her mother was a social worker. Living in California, she fell in love with the beach and has tried her best to be as close as possible to the sand and the waves.
Dr. Turek began to take interest in Dentistry while completing her undergraduate work in Santa Barbara, California. She worked throughout college as a Dental Assistant and loved the dental field so much that she decided to pursue a career in Dentistry after she graduated from the University of California with her Bachelor of Science degree in biopsychology. Dr. Turek received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in San Francisco from the Pacific School of Dentistry and continued her professional training in North Miami Beach. After her residency at NSU School of Dentistry in Advanced Education in General Dentistry, she joined the NC Dept. of Health and Human Services to serve in the rural areas of North Carolina where dental care is difficult to find. She has spent over seven years working in clinics providing care to the underserved. It was a very rewarding experience for her, and she has continued to volunteer to help those in need.
Dr. Jenny Turek is the former President of the Tri-County Dental Society and the former Secretary of the St. Mary Health Center Board of Directors. She is certified in CPR and AED as well as an OSHA Trained, member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. As mentioned previously, she enjoys volunteering in her community and has volunteered at both Mission of Mercy and St. Mary Health Center in Wilmington.
