After graduating with a 4.0 GPA from one of the best dental schools in India in 2011, Dr. Kirat Sodhi, was a practicing general dentist for a couple of years before she moved to Seattle, Washington. Thereafter, she enrolled into the Fellowship program at The University of Washington which paved her way into the field of Orthodontics. She saw her clinical skills, creativity, and compassion for dental care fit into the world of dentistry through orthodontics.
In the summer of 2014, Dr. Sodhi moved from the pacific northwest to the southeast corner of the US in Jacksonville, Florida as she was accepted into the Fellowship Program in Clinical Orthodontics for 12 months. Thereafter she attended the 27-month combined residency in Orthodontics and Craniofacial Orthopedics and Master’s of Science in Dentistry at Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics.
After more than three years of learning the clinical practice of Orthodontics during fellowship, residency and master’s, she graduated as the Chief Resident from her program and was honored as an inductee into the first-ever “Resident Champion Program” started by American Association of Orthodontics in 2018. She also got inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi for maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout her residency and master’s program.
She feels confident and passionate to provide orthodontic care for any type of malocclusion ranging from simple crowding, spacing issues to more complex and complicated cases involving growth modifications for younger kids needing two-phase treatment or interceptive orthodontic treatment to teens and adults, and more comprehensive orthodontics. She has the exposure and knowledge of using a vast variety of treatment modalities with appliances like twin brackets, self-ligating, and InvisalignÒ. She has used various modern technological gadgets like lasers, CBCT, iCAT scanners and intraoral scanners like Itero and 3shape. She has treated cases that used appliances like banded palatal expanders, TAD’s, Forsus 3M, cervical and high-pull headgear, MARA, Twin-block, Herbst, etc.
Dr. Sodhi moved to Dallas to begin her journey as an Orthodontist with her husband, who is an entrepreneur, and their newborn baby boy. She is enjoying Texas life! In her free time, she likes to meditate, eat healthy, keep a positive outlook and enjoy her time with her family. Her mission is to help everyone feel confident in themselves by providing them a beautiful smile to begin with!
