Dr. Michael Albazzaz received his Bachelor’s degree in education from Concordia University in 1996, graduating summa cum laude. After being involved in public education for several years, he entered dental school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he completed both his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2005 and, later, his Master’s degree in Oral Sciences, earned in conjunction with the completion of his residency program in orthodontics in 2008. Over the course of his dental and orthodontic education, Dr. Albazzaz earned over ten local and national-level awards for his research activities involving dental matrix proteins, and presented his research at several local and national meetings.
After graduation, Dr. Albazzaz entered into the clinical practice of orthodontics with the goal of delivering the best care possible to his patients. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, the Illinois Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society. He regularly pursues continuing education opportunities in order to stay current regarding the latest knowledge and techniques in orthodontics.
Dr. Albazzaz was born and raised in Illinois, and is gratified to be caring for the orthodontic needs of its residents. In his free time, he and his wife enjoy activities such as hiking, cycling, photography, astronomy, and going out to the movies.
