About Dr. Vakil-Bhandari

Dr. Purvi Vakil-Bhandari graduated from the University of California, Los Angles with a Bachelors in Sciences (B.S.) in Psychology and Biology in 2007. She then continued her education and graduated with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 2011. She chose dentistry because she feels it is the perfect blend of patient interaction, science, and technology. Dr. Vakil-Bhandari enjoys working with patients to restore their oral health and function and hopes to transform the future of healthcare while exercising creativity in her daily work.

Currently, she participates in continuing education courses in all aspects of general dentistry with an emphasis on technological advancements in dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, and implant dentistry. She is also working on obtaining her fellowship track with the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Vakil-Bhandari is involved with various organizations including the Academy of General Dentistry – Peer Reviewer, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, Cerec Doctors, The Dawson Academy, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, yoga, hiking, running, reading and cooking. Her favorite authors are Malcolm Gladwell, Michael Lewis, and Steven Johnson. She also uses her free time to volunteer with the local Mobile Dental Clinic, Girls on The Run, and The Water Project. Dr. Vakil-Bhandari continues to be recognized for her work and has received the E-Human Dental Tooth Atlas award, the Dental Virtual Home award, the American Association of Dental Research Meeting award, and has been recognized by Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Some of her favorite words to live by come from a quote by Albert Einstein, “try not to become a man of success, but a man of value.”
